I wonder if they had a falling out." Artix's shoulders slumped. His friends' lives often got complicated, and he always had problems untangling yarn let alone interpersonal relations. "Hans, you spend more time with Warlic these days. Do you know if something is wrong?"

"I told ya, Warlic. My door's always open, but you never knock. A lot of other people do. They get confused and scared when I give a spiel meant for you."

"Did something happen to the Queen?" Artix manages, practically breathless from carrying people to safety in batches of ten. "it is going to be alright. I am sure you and your invisible friend can save the day. You always do!" Classic. The Paladin always did take these sorts of things in stride.

"Invisible friend?" Hans was panting, having carried people to safety in batches of one. "Wait. HUH? IS THERE A GHOST HERE?" I mean, in a sense, that's true. By the way, why is his title 'groundskeeper?' Is he your groundskeeper? I gotta backread, gimme a second… That's cool, you've got a whole temple to yourself? Shame about the basement, but at least it isn't under your bed.
