The Man Who Fell Between the Pages
I see you found my journal. Seeing how furrowed your brow is, I assume you didn't have a chance to read it. Well. You're looking at the inside right now. I fell in between the pages, and was left behind when I returned to reality. The man who died during the rebellion is me, and this is also me. I wouldn't call myself an afterimage. If you go back to rewatch cutscenes, that's still Warlic, that's still Tara, and that's still you existing in the moment.

Where are we?
A blank page. Whatever filled the space has already been moved. Perhaps they've become reality. I'm quite happy for them! What's left behind are the hopefuls. The ideas that used to exist in the past, and still do in another time and space, but not here. Maybe one day, they'll be born with fresh new memories. As for something like me or the other protagonist, here is where we'll stay. Snoop around. You'll find them.

Identity
How's Metrea doing? I remember how she'd snoop around my workshop, and slice a hole open at the bottom of my bag when I wasn't looking. Is that enough of a clue? I'm dead in reality, but I'm still there. You're also having a conversation with me between the pages. When you leave, I'll still be trapped here. Or, am I the one who's free of fate and duty, and everyone else is trapped, marching on a carefully laid path?

Immortality
My colleagues and I dabbled in forbidden magic. Some died, and others were cursed with a painful form of immortality. As for what has become of me, I don't consider this to be a horrible fate. Gazing further and further into the beyond, I slid out of bounds. It's lonely, of course, but this is freedom. No chains, no script…or so it seems. There's a possibility that our meeting still serves some higher purpose as well.
