Committing murder or claiming self defense, same things, just different afterthoughts. In the heat of battle, none of that matters, it is the enemy or your life. The Dark Makai are jaded, having long served as Nulgath's grunts. Many have fled Tercessuinotlim carrying with them the foul smell of rebellion. Make your first lesson in Makai survival a hands on experience and teach those terrors their place on the totem pole.

windle travels all over Lore scamming heroes and stealing intel. A few trips back he told me all about these ancient scrolls he found on a Dark Makai. It seemed useless then, but now, this information could disrupt the whole rebellion.

You could search for the scroll on monsters all around Lore or could give me a few items to barter the exact scroll location back into Swindle's memory. If you think bartering is the way to go, check my next quest.

Simply an option quest for the lazy: If you don't wish to take the time to search monsters for the scrolls, then you may bribe Swindle for the exact location. Since he's got quite high standards, here's one of the few bribes he'll accept:

Looks like the scrolls reveal the Makai to be of moglin descent…Interesting, I wondered what could have tainted such a loveable species. As these creatures appear to be the Moglin's polar opposite, a few tests are needed to confirm their true nature. Grab me 10 Makai prisoners, and 1 Evil Moglin from BattleOff for good measure.

The knowledge gained here could make or break the rebellion. Moglins most defining features are the ability of their hug's to heal, sugar induced candy crazes, and a disgustingly cute appearance. Let's see how the Dark Makai match up to these characteristics. Borrow a few chains from Dilligaf's swords in /join Underworld for some "completely humane" Makai testing. What's the worst that can happen?

I signed up to mentor a hero, not be slaughtered by a Makai horde. The only hope of stopping these beasts lies with Nulgath's loyal double-agent. Seek out the Dark Makai Verick deep down in the sewers for assistance.

We stand in the Temple of Light's courtyard. The building itself is currently sealed by powerful light magic. Go down the Eastern path and see for yourself. The Impersonator left their dirty handprints all over the front doors when they arrived and blew through the Temple's initial defenses. On the way there, you'll run into the stragglers - Light Elementals. They'll think you're one of the invaders. Take them out or they'll be a nuisance.

I assumed the paladins wandering the courtyard had broken through the front gate to meddle in our affairs. The members of the Nation surrounding the Temple reported that no one, save for you, has been allowed beyond the gate. Then what are they doing here? And why do they look like light bulbs with limbs? You and I will subdue these odd paladins. Perhaps that will serve to loosen the Temple's seal as well.

The more elementals and paladins we defeat, the weaker the seal on the Temple's doors becomes. They are part of the spell that keeps the invaders trapped. Ha, the clerics feared the Imposter so much that they were willing to tether the lives of their own to the seal. Tch, the alliance is still active, so I can't use this as an excuse to slay them. Knocking the paladins unconscious and banishing the Elementals will have to suffice.

There was more than one seal. Beyond those arrogant fixtures depicting the Avatar of Light is the path to the Temple's inner sanctum. Currently, it's inaccessible, and the layout of the Temple is…unexpected. This looks nothing like the original Temple of Light. Jadzia, the Nation's Loremaster, has arrived under the orders of Master Nulgath. She has gone inside the temple. Go, speak with her and take a closer look at the Temple's fixtures.

Though the behavior of the Light's followers will warrant surveillance, I will lead that task after the Imposter is eviscerated. The first seal crumbled after a sufficient amount of paladins and elementals were defeated. We will subdue them again, and see if the second seal will dissolve in the same manner. There seems to be no end to the Light's followers. What a nuisance.
