Sisterhood of Dishpan Hands
Aria and Yulgar finally had a chance to lay their feelings out, and we have you to thank for it. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ariel, a cleric of the Sisterhood of Dishpan Hands, Cleric Dawn's student, and Aria's nurse. Many like me joined the Sisterhood and jumped at the chance to travel to Seabase Undine after the Mana Crisis. We faced that tragedy together, and will forge a new future together.
Activities
Lore survived the Mana Crisis and a moment when it felt like the sky was falling. Though our wounds have healed, the physical and mental scars continue to ravage Greenguard. The Sisterhood spread themselves thin to help as many people as they could. Despite the danger, I came to Undine with Cleric Dawn so we can learn and contribute to their efforts to advance the field of medicine and healing.
Advancements
Cleric Dawn works with the Medical Division as an expert in Purification. While she's busy, I'm participating in advancing practical healing. Being able to regrow limbs and increasing one's affinity for magic through nerve reconstruction are incredible accomplishments! We're also making strides with healing the mind by purifying patients of their fears, inhibitions, and nightmares.
Factions
The Alliance has dissolved, and I am relieved that many of the new friends I made have realized that they aren't beyond redemption. Sadly, I've lost companions to the Empress' Shadowscythe as well. In this new age, the Sisterhood was trusted with the task of purifying those who have left the Empire. We work alongside Swordhaven's mages to cleanse them of their darkness and single out spies.
Sisterhood of the Dishpan Hands
Good to see you! Cleric Dawn remained in Seabase Undine to continue her research and support its personnel. Some of my sisters and I followed Doc - er, Lady Song to your temple. We are elated to be able to lend a hand, especially in times of such strife! Termina Temple is such a peaceful place. I heard that this was going to be the new Temple of Light? Interesting! I was an orphan that was raised in the Old Temple before it was invaded.
Afflictions
Mana Affliction was not a one time occurrence. The Leylines swelled again during the Avatar of Water's rampage. My sisters and I quickly treated those affected using our research in Undine. A word of warning… I hear that some are actively waiting for the next swell. There's a harebrained theory out there that one can harness great power if they tap into a Leyline during another swell. This is very dangerous thinking.
Neutrality
My sisters and I went to Undine thinking it was a safe place to heal the sick. I thought the Defence side of the base was meant to develop ways to defend the innocent. Instead, our research was used to create unspeakable weapons in what was essentially a gravesite for the Ashray Water Elves. This has led to discussions about acting as an independent organization instead of being tethered to monarchies with ulterior motives.
Cooperation
I see that a form of the original Alliance continues in Termina Temple. The leaders of the Empire, Nation, and Legion sent their own representatives. The Blue Mage and Lady Celestia are here as well, but they're respected individuals, not spokespeople from Swordhaven. I hope that the shady dealings in Undine will be explained properly by the Queen, but until then, I will continue my cleric work here, and heal without bias."
Sisterhood of the Dishpan Hands
…*gasp* I almost fell into the fire dozing off like that! Thank you for catching me, and my apologies for not noticing you. I hope you're doing better than I am. Did you come to escape the noise too? I'm not staying at the Inn, but the walls muffle the hammering and…screaming. I'm helping Lady Song with the injured who fled from the Mountain Peaks. Their burns are said to be beyond saving, but we're trying our best to heal them.
Burns
Lady Song and I arrived at Thelima before you did, and were met with a huge emergency. The situation is being monitored as we speak. There are trespassers who went to Forge Maleno without permission, and were burned by its fires. We can't put out the flames, and the burns eat away at their body until there's nothing left. Some of the citizens began to notice, and started calling the burned…"Matchsticks."
Work
There's a clinic on the east side of the city. It's just past the library. We keep it as far as possible from the House of Ash. When Lady Song isn't busy with courtly duties, she helps my sisters and me heal the burned. Thanks to the renewed prosperity of the Yew Mountain Chain, we have no shortage of supplies. It's just that nothing works. Sleepless nights lead nowhere, and we send the remains to the West at night so it won't upset the citizens.
Sisterhood
If people are being burned like this on Mount Maleno, then it's likely happening on the other Mountains. Lady Song called for aid, and the Sisterhood of the Dishpan Hands was one of the organizations that responded. Admittedly, we're overwhelmed, and it's just Maleno's burn victims that I'm aware of. I have yet to hear from the sisters who left for Albedo, Citrinitas, and Rubedo.
