Our most pressing objective is to reconnect the fuel lines to keep Sparagmos operational. Debrief and talk with Fa, she has the most experience doing maintenance in the Abyssal Zone. Once you're both ready, we need to clear out the Kitefin Shark Bait. It's strange. They've never gotten inside the base before or have shown that they've wanted to. The Shark Bait usually stick to the sea floor, or flee to Ashray.
I watched the Shark Bait's behavior while you were fighting them. They're here because of Kathool. That monster is awake, and the creatures of the deep sea are fleeing the depths to escape. They've taken to slipping inside the Abyssal Zone in a panic, which they've never been able to do before. The situation's worse than I thought. Kathool's movements must have punched holes into the Abyssal Zone's walls.

Did you see the fuel lines running up the walls? Help me inspect them for damage. Fa will keep the hall quiet while we're busy. Go as far down the hall as you can. If we're lucky, we'll see what caused the fuel lines to disconnect. When you're done, we'll have to acknowledge the giant tentacled elephant in the room. Keep your distance, but examine the tentacles that snaked their way into the area. They likely belong to Kathool.
None of the fuel lines in these rooms are damaged, which means we need to proceed deeper to find the leak. The problem is, we're going to be proceeding on Kathool's terms. It blocked off the usual way Fa takes to find the rest of the fuel lines. The only way down is through the hole it broke into the floor. Ah look, it's allowing us to use one of its tentacles as a ladder. How…conscientious.

I fear the longer we dawdle, the faster Sparagmos runs out of fuel and leaves us vulnerable. We have no choice but to go down that tentacle ladder to make progress. Take the utmost amount of care. There's no electrical lighting down there, and I hear the sound of violently churning waves. It's the Blighted Water Elementals. They've infested these hidden chambers of the Abyssal Zone. We need to drain the rooms to be able to proceed safely!
Fa and I are soaked, but no worse for wear… Thank you, I suppose. As for those Blighted Water Elementals, they weren't aggressive because of our presence. Based on their behavior, they're excited because Kathool's tentacles are moving around. This entire time, I thought the water elementals were tainted by Kathool's influence. That's not the case. They're seeking out Kathool's tendrils, and are attempting to absorb them.

I've never seen these rooms before, and Fa said that there aren't any man-made exits or entrances. Just the new pathways Kathool made by breaking open the floors and walls. There are murals on the wall, and even if this is what Kathool wants, we should inspect them. Be careful, shadowy creatures are seeping into the room. I want you and Fa to collect samples. They're Sparagmos' fuel, but they resemble the description on one of the murals.
The murals depict the Temple as a place of worship dedicated to Neso, the Avatar of Water. We were aware of this already. But in ancient times, a giant Darkness Elemental attacked them. They tore this colossal Elemental in two by using a weapon built into the Temple. The fuel for this weapon was a Champion of Water named…Undine? Then, they began to use the remains of the colossal Elemental to continue powering their weapon…fuel.

Please help Fa fight off and capture the Shadow Viscera and the Blighted Water Elementals. The longer we remain here, the more violent they become. Just hold them off for a little longer so they won't get near the murals. I'm uncovering the larger picture, the truth that Kathool wants us to see. It is absolutely intending for us to be harmed by the truth but we have to confront it. The Elves, Lady Neso, and perhaps even Swordhaven wanted this hidden for a reason.
The Temple of Water is Seabase Undine. It is enchanted with songs that lure in Neso's enemies, and houses a weapon to destroy them with. That weapon, known as the Drowning Machine, currently uses fuel made from a slain colossal Darkness Elemental. The Shadow Viscera is that fuel, the same fluid Sparagmos is using to fight off Kathool… no, the Drowning Machine and Sparagmos are the same. The Queen and Dr. Noelle knew this the entire time!

If the Queen and Dr. Noelle knew more about the Temple than they were willing to share, just what else were they hiding? I can't believe I was strung along…We need to get out of here as soon as possible. Just like before, more sealife infiltrated the Abyssal Zone because of the damage caused by Kathool. This time…they're smaller Elementals. Hurry, we'll exterminate these Foam Scavengers, and scout ahead.
We took an essential detour, but Fa says we're back on the right track. You can both find the rest of the fuel lines without distraction. That being said, those Foam Scavengers only attacked us because we disturbed them. They look like smaller versions of the Seafoam Elemental that broke into our submarine. So this is why they turn into Marine Snow. Kathool isn't influencing them. The elementals are intentionally seeking and feeding on its tentacles.

There's one more mural in this area. Even though Fa has passed it by every time she's done maintenance in the Abyssal zone, it could hold new meaning with what we've learned. Help me examine it, and the remaining fuel lines nearby. If you see any monsters nearby, no matter how alarming they look, ignore them. For now, they're distracted by Kathool's intrusion.
There's no notable damage to the fuel lines. I can only conclude that instead of physically damaging them, Dr. Noelle is obstructing the line from the Trench Deck. She's using some built-in mechanism to block the fuel. As for the mural, it's worrisome. The Water Elementals have dissolved organic matter inside them. They're feeding on Kathool. If those who dissolve into seafoam add to Neso's power, then we are literally submerged in an immense foe.

The larger monsters are on the move. Fa didn't see them the last time she visited the Abyssal zone. Orange antlers protrude from their body. They look like coral… or the same horns that the Water Elves in the mural had. I feel the Temple shifting from Kathool's tentacles. It's like the rumble of a chuckle. These monsters are here because of Kathool. Please, destroy them. They…they're wrong. These things shouldn't exist!
These monsters aren't hallucinations. They were created with elemental water magic, using the remains of Water Elves. Kathool molded monsters out of adipocere to prove a point; to show me how stupid and naive I was. I understand now. These remains aren't recent, but they aren't ancient, either. All of the Ashray are gone. They were wiped out a year or two before I arrived with my family… right before Queen Victoria sent researchers to Undine.

At the end of this corridor is an obelisk flanked by two doors. I couldn't fix the fuel lines, but at least I can repair the way back to the Midnight Zone. The door on the left leads back to Sparagmos, where we'll tell the others what we've learned. Clear the last of the monsters in the area while I work, and take a look at the obelisk. I imagine there will be a journal here, tucked away by Miss Aquella. You…I'm sorry that your search ended this way.
What was in that journal? Show me, now! …Kathool was the least of our worries. Why did I always assume that the forces of Swordhaven found the Temple themselves? It was given to them by the organization that massacred the Water Elves! You, me, the researchers, even Dage and Kathool…We were dancing on the palm of the Jus Divinum! Get back to Sparagmos! This was all a trap to sacrifice The Beast to kill Kathool!

Kathool created an amalgamation of Water Elf remains to speak and harm us through. Now that Kathool's awake, it only took a fraction of its power to throw us into complete disarray. I don't want to think about what could happen if you don't hold it off! Hurry! I can shoulder the weight of Kathool's attacks with Dage ,but argh! Not for long. Defeat The Ashray's remains! Hurry! Dage said he needed ten minutes, but we can't last!
Kathool made me see my dad. Darkon said that I was completely innocent and that he was evil for taking advantage of our family. No, my dad was a hero. I was the one who didn't stop him. I wanted blood even though the Queen, the researchers, and even you have been protecting us. I won't let my dad be Evil. That's all on me and I won't let myself get away with what I've done.
