You're saying the Leylines are like arteries, and the Mana Core is like a heart. Why spend so much effort getting to the Core when you can get the same results corrupting the Leylines? Corrupting the Mana Core would spread corruption faster, I guess, so it's a last resort if nothing else works. Say…if spreading Shadowflame takes longer by using the Leylines, wouldn't someone notice and come running, Boss?
