You wouldn't see it yourself but the members of the Shadowscythe constantly question me. Either I'm inactive or I'm too emotional. It's the typical downside of ruling an Empire. None of it gets to me but, these past few months have been particularly exhausting.

This is the gate to Camlan, home of the High Elves. Tell Lord Brentan to secure the perimeter! The Shadows take minions by infesting the weak with their influence. Don't let anyone else through!

The High Elves willingly opened their gates, and allowed the Shadow inside Camlan. It must have whispered promises that Dryden's people couldn't resist. Their home gives off an air of aggressive arrogance, despite the pure white and gold… or perhaps because of it. I can respect that, but they caved into whatever the Shadows were offering almost instantly. Perhaps Dryden's naivety was inherited, and is exactly what created this deadly mix of greed and pride.

Thanks to the spectacle of their arrival, through a weeping Eclipse, the people of Greenguard are frightened out of their wits. I will have to hunt my quarry in competition with the Lightguard. You and Tara stay out of this. Wounded or not, I will prove that the Shadows should be bowing to me.

This is an invasion, Hero. It is gradually progressing, but perhaps I'll grow bored and leave after the festivities come to a close. I can't exactly be invited now that the Alliance has been dissolved, so this half-hearted attack will have to do. I have to admit… It's nice to stand here and not have to act or fulfill expectations. Victoria and I will be here for a while… You know, fighting to the death over the throne. *wink*

Gift
I struggled with figuring out a gift that made sense. A platoon of Undead is too obvious, thoughtless, and meaningless. I'm sure you could learn Necromancy easily and make your own. It wouldn't be special. Eventually, I decided on this bone fragment. A small piece of a rib from…a certain someone. It won't do anything to help raise the dead, but it'll make healing go a lot faster. A little piece of…that person, always with you on every adventure.

No, I haven't seen anything unusual. I'd prefer not to be dealing with all these Pactagonal Knights, but that's not exactly unexpected.

Karok wants the Queen of Monsters dead, but he's not exactly working "with" us. Artix and Cysero are back in Greenguard preparing for an impending attack. And Drakath has never been part of our Alliance. For now, we're on our own.

Cut it open, set it on fire, crush it under stones - do whatever it takes to find out what can kill it. I was a fool to let my guard down during the alliance. If they…if this creature's creator ever comes back, we must be prepared. The Shadowscythe will reign supreme over all, no matter who they are or who they once were.

Am I allowed to feel guilt? Do I get to be angry at myself? I rule over armies of darkness that can flood the world in a matter of weeks, but will | ever feel happy? Part of this is the Mana Affliction making my lips looser. The rest is me disturbing the things I let fester in the back of my mind for too long. Being here opened my eyes to that. Are you angry at me? You can and should be.

Speakers
The final monster we fought in the Timestream and Malgor are similar. They were both originally Mumblers, evolved into False Wyverns, but their evolution quickly diverted and took on different appearances. These Mumblers do have your memories, and embody your negative emotions. It's just that over time, they develop personalities and motivations of their own. Just like…no, I shouldn't make that comparison.

Mana Core
Somehow, the effects of the Mana Core's destabilization has even reached the Timestream. Is that possible? The Leylines shouldn't be able to reach a place disconnected from Lore's reality. Unless, it's like how you could reach the core if you were in the Elemental Planes. I would rather that be the explanation over the idea of the Entity inside it actively searching for us. Even if that voice is…

Cooperation
It's only rational to worry that Drakath and I would lose our wits and prioritize killing each other over the greater threat. He killed my father, and my father killed King Dethrix the first. That would be Drakath's father, if you needed a refresher. Here's another, Drakath is the direct cause of Victoria's father's death. None of these murders can be forgiven…I know it's confusing. Thank you for not calling this the dead dad-athon.

The Metamorphosis Maw has been spotted slithering through the sands. I have no doubt that the Shadows are attacking the city of Duat, but these snakes are different from the ones we fought in Battleon and Camlan. Perhaps one of the other Condemned Shadows is gaining power, and it's manifesting as Chaos. Just looking at purple makes my blood boil. By the way, why are we dragging around that grave robber in the gray robes? Who is he?

Tara
Tara offered to fight alongside me outside the walls of the city, but I turned her down. It gets harder to do that the stronger she becomes. Having the 'Neutrality' card doesn't help things. Alright, it's only you here. I can say it out loud. It's difficult to be harsh with Tara. She looks up to me like I'm a hero, and I don't need to tell you how dangerous that is. Tara and Victoria…I've made up my mind, but where do we go from here?

Tell Zhoom to keep his guard up, even with his supposed allies. The Lightguard aren't here out of the goodness of their hearts. They want something from the Sandsea, and Astero's dropping castle-sized hints that they'll use any excuse to take drastic action. If Pharaoh Zhoom proves to be a weak leader…I heard that Sek-Duat was originally a man from Greenguard who 'shone Light' on the Sandsea. What if that Light belonged to Celeritas'?

Doom and Chaos? The thought makes me sick. Who knew Chaos was active before Drakath came into the picture. Though, I suppose there would need to be pre-existing knowledge and artifacts to allow his rise in the first place. Apophis was the Umbral Snake's name? I should have realized that, like Ouroboros with the Elves, Apophis was revered by the Sandsea of the past. It's hard to rationalize that with its annoying nasally voice.

Well, there's a reason I hadn't found it before my father started to sense its presence. The tower it's inside is filled with undead that aren't under my control. I'd intended to clear them out eventually, but hadn't yet found the time. Anyway, they seem to be instinctively guarding his soul fragment.

Yes. As far as we know, my father's spirit is — mostly — trapped inside the shadows surrounding the Queen of Monsters. A FEW pieces of his spirit have resurfaced inside objects scattered around the world. Like in the Necrotic Blade of Doom.

Somewhere in this endless sea of monsters is Drakath and Malgor. If Varga's theory is right, then Malgor is using this as a distraction to escape into the past and start over again. I will not be trapped in these pointless cycles! Once I get my hands on him, I…we will need to figure out exactly what he is. Without question, he has some connection to you but I won't jump to any conclusions.

Strange Monsters
Creatures corrupted by Shadowflame have infested the Timestream, likely brought in by Malgor to keep us busy. They'll be nothing to worry about … it's just those Mumblers that are of concern. You may not hear it but to the rest of us, they sound exactly like you. I admit, for both myself and Galanoth, that listening to them yell and cry is disturbing. I hope I never have to hear such anguish from you.

Celeritas
I did not raise my voice when Celeritas fought to keep me from participating in the opening of the portal. I should have. Though I want to personally confront Malgor, having a burden meant for my shoulders thrown on the others, especially Aria and Abel, is…it's…argh! I want to say it's humiliating but that's not it. Do | fear that I would owe both them and Celeritas favors? Perhaps…but that's a thought for after the war. I need to focus.

Avatars
The Avatars shouldn't be able to hear us in the Timestream. I'm warning you to be careful around them. Just because their goal is to maintain balance does not mean they are completely devoted to it. Fiamme and Celeritas successfully saved their Champions, and Voidstar tried but failed. Neso threatened you, and Tremblor covered for her. This web of conflict won't untangle until after Malgor is taken care of.

Former Empress of the Shadowscythe
Well…. Here we are. Drakath is finished, and Chaos is no longer a threat, but we're still picking up the pieces in the ruins of Lore. It's not exactly an ideal situation. But I've gotta hand it to you, <Hero>. You really came through for us. I don't think- no, I know- that anyone would still be here if it wasn't for your help. That's enough chit-chat…go pick up a shovel and some bricks. We've got work to do.

What Now?
It's going to take a while before Shadowfall can be rebuilt, but once the time comes, I'll build it back stronger, better, and wiser. I COULD start by reanimating the skeletons of the AntiTitans nearby, but I feel like I should let them rest, just this once. Perhaps I'll make the new Shadowfall out of a Titan skeleton to commemorate this occasion…

Alliance
I had my doubts about working with King Alteon, but it appears we can work together well enough. His ability to rally scared townspeople is useful. Paired with my ability to command anyone, it's surprisingly effective. Together, we might be able to keep everything under control until we rebuild. I won't think I'll ever forgive him for standing against my father… but maybe he's not as bad as I thought.

My Empire hunts the Shadows, and we didn't need Zhoom telling us what we already knew. He just had to go and get you involved. The Shadow Hunt is keeping my more bloodthirsty warriors busy. Destroying Ouroboros and his ilk will show them what happens to those who defy me. Then, I'll decide what happens to the Sandsea, the Yokai Isles, and Greenguard. You already know what's most important to me.

Stranger
I imprisoned the Mysterious Stranger that supposedly founded the Shadowscythe Empire. It keeps trying to tempt me with information about Ouroboros, Camlan, and… the previous Champion of Light… in exchange for talking to you. That isn't happening, and people are beginning to remember the Doom Triad we're hunting. The effects of Condemnatio Memoriae are wearing off.

Pharaoh
Pharaoh Zhoom isn't being upfront with you. It isn't out of malice, but I think he feels…inadequate. The rituals he's meant to conduct as Ruler of the Sandsea keep failing because the land itself doesn't believe he's qualified. His people want him to be their true Pharaoh, but Sek-Duat is still out there. Some, on the other hand, turn their backs to him. I heard Zhoom was a bounty hunter under Sek-Duat's employ before all this. Interesting.

Remember, Tara's going to learn from you too.

Lord Nulgath was keeping a dangerous secret from me - a dying star transformed into some sort of weapon. Unfortunately, it's been stolen by a Nation traitor. Ana claims to know where they went, and is scouting things out up ahead. We need to catch up, but be ready to fight - the Lightguard and Nation forces are already here, and I doubt either will be happy to see us.

Lord Dage and I spoke about this, and he's sure that Nulgath was keeping it as a last resort- should Lore fall forever out of his reach, he'll just destroy the planet - and everyone on it- in a final act of pettiness. One of his Fiends managed to steal it, and is hoping to leverage it in exchange for having their breach of contract forgiven.

Leadership
The only thing I know for certain about Lord Nulgath is just how much animosity he has towards Dage. Should I be incapacitated - or worse - the Lord of the Legion will take over as interim Emperor of the Shadowscythe. In fact, Dage offered to see to this matter himself… but I should be the one to settle it. This was my decision, and if Nulgath is dissatisfied, we'll discuss it like professionals… *sigh* as low as the chances of that may be.

Paladins
It was the Lightguard who first discovered the existence of Nulgath's superweapon, and of Carcano's duplicity.
