With the tiger being seen as a destroyer of evil in Chinese myth, many parents will clothe their children in clothing featuring tigers, or tiger patterns, to ward off misfortune. If we wear tiger patterns, it would both honor Umitora and hopefully prevent a disaster. The spiders and their kin who dwell in Ravenloss have supplies we can use to sew some.
Wonderful. I'll get Nekomimi to whip up a batch of outfits right away. Talented girl, isn't she? I'd hire her as my personal designer, if she wasn't so obsessed with putting cat ears on everything. They're cute, certainly, but not something that exactly screams ‘high society'. I'm sure both the people of Akiba- and Umitora- will enjoy these, though!

Even tigers appreciate a little beauty sometimes, and the king here is no exception. His favorites, of course, are Tiger Lilies, but he's also partial to the flowers of the Tiger Sign. The local Bamboo Treants, Lingzhi fungi and Xingzhi will usually have plenty of flora growing on them. Bring back the most terrific, astounding and complimentary around!
Excellent work. These are absolutely beautiful! I hope that Umitora appreciates them just as much as we do. And if he doesn't like how they look, we can always serve them to him as a salad. I suppose we'll take what we can get.

The excitement here is rising up, but Umitora is unamused. He will not be satisfied until ALL of Lore's eyes are gazing upon him. Get back on the street and bring us some! There are plenty near Mobius and the Ebonslate Fortress, and I hear of thousand-eyed creatures in Greenguard Forest. One such beast even crashed a Battle Wedding!
My, you truly went the distance on this one. You must be quite the Survivor to come back alive after a hunt like that. These are perfect to let Umitora know that all eyes truly ARE on him! By the way.. are you feeling strangely motivated after all of this talk about eyes and tigers? I can't explain why, but I am. We're not going to stop now, are we?

The most important thing to any tiger is a good meal. Unfortunately, Umitora is a picky eater. He will only accept the highest quality meat… and prefers it directly from other Zodiac Creatures in Akiba! He is partial to Boar and Ox meat, but his favorite is Rat (he says it tastes like lean pork.. still gross), so get plenty of that. If you carve it, we'll cook it.
Excellent! This is a feast truly worthy of a king. I believe now that Umitora knows just how much we aim to honor him. Of course, worshiping and fighting him are two different things- at least, in the tiger king's eyes. You will have to prove your strength to him if he is to deem us fit to display his power against. And hopefully you can do it before he's finished with his meal, or we may have to do this all over again!

Tigers rarely form groups, but when they do, they're called ‘streaks'.There are some strong tigers that Umitora sees as members of his. Defeating them- the White Tigers in /creatures, Cinderclaw and his tigers at /phoenixrise, and Shadowclaw (who fought in the /fireplanewar) will prove that you are more worth his time than they are.
By proving your superiority over the lesser tigers of the world, you show that you're ready to challenge some of the larger ones- most notably Umitora himself. Though it seems like he's still unimpressed, and maybe even angry that you beat his brethren. Don't worry, I have another plan. If fighting his allies didn't work, what about going after his enemies?

The traditional depiction of the Taiji, often called the Yin-Yang symbol, is often accompanied by images of a Dragon and a Tiger. They are seen as the avatars of Yin and Yang, forever in conflict. I hear of a seven-headed dragon that lurks at the /shadowfortress… slaying it would show both your strength and loyalty to the Yang itself.
It seems Umitora is completely satisfied with all of your flattery, Hero- as well as the leftovers you brought back for him. He's even forgiven you for slaying the other tigers! A worthy challenger, a show of loyalty, and a second helping of food from Orochi's remains. Can you imagine anything more perfect to appeal to one such as the King of Beasts?

Umitora is almost done with his dinner, and just in time! The performance and celebration will begin shortly as well. But there's one last thing we need: fireworks! We can make a truly grand entrance by lighting some of the bombs carried around by the Lin Kuei assassins using the flames of Fiery Lanterns. Go get us some and we'll be all set.
I've just gotten word from my servants who speak tiger… and they have bad news. Umitora believes this place is beneath him, so doesn't want to participate anymore. And on top of that, he's angry that we even brought him here in the first place. The fireworks can wait- it looks like Umitora's making his own dynamic entry into Akiba!

I'm sorry to put a damper on the New Year's celebration, Hero, but if Umitora continues lashing out, there won't BE a New Year for this island. I hate to keep asking for your help, but it's up to you to show this tiger what happens to spoiled brats. Just be careful: he wouldn't be a ruler if he didn't have the strength to back that title up!
It appears you've knocked some sense into him. Umitora has agreed to participate in the celebrations without resistance… although he seems more concerned about losing to you than all the damage he's caused. Thankfully, it's all temporary: win or lose, the townsfolk honor Umitora as a warrior and emperor! Oh, and I'll pay for the repairs.
