An Eerie Landmark
An explorer frozen in a pose that helpfully directs those who follow in their footsteps. This is a thankless service that they can't be rescued from. Trying to move them will shatter their body to pieces. All you can do is stare at their three arms. Were they human? Can you trust their judgement? Your questions are answered by the sound of falling snow.

Right Hand
The Lost Expeditioner's right arm extends west, and their index finger is slightly raised. It's a gentle suggestion to turn your back on the dark expanse of the tundra. You have no reason to march towards Oblivion. Aren't you busy? There are people waiting for you at home. It'll be difficult to get back to the light, but it's better than the nothing that waits for you in the Void.

Left Hand
The Lost Expeditioner's left arm extends east, their hand splayed out in the universal sign for "Stop." Come no further. Whatever is out there should stay where it is. You sense an air of old magic to it. In fact, only a few of the empty creatures can make it past this quiet landmark. It can't keep all of them out, but it's still trying.

Third Hand
A third arm - or a second left arm - grows out of the Expeditioner's back. Its frozen fingers slowly start to move. The index finger uncurls first, followed by the thumb, and finally the pinky. You have a sense that the Expeditioner isn't doing this themselves. It's like invisible strings are tugging on their hand. A deep sense of foreboding washes over you. This is extremely dangerous.
