Queen Incognito
Captain Rhubarb plans to travel to Rheum to lay Beryl's armor to rest, and I plan to go with him. I really should be returning to Swordhaven but this is something I want to see through to the end. Rheum's a tiny town that often requests food from Swordhaven to boost their stores for the Winter. Nothing like a vast Empire. All of their achievements, and nearly all of the people who remembered Beryl, were lost under the tide.
Champions
Beryl is…was the Champion of Earth. Now that I think about it, I haven't heard of any Champion that found a happy ending. I don't like that we have to be grateful for a bittersweet farewell. Her situation brings up a lot of questions. What are the Champions meant to do for their Avatar and Plane? Maintaining balance is the usual answer but the little details vary from element to element. That worries me…
Avatars
After learning so much, I'm embarrassed that I just assumed Avatars like Lady Celeritas always have the best intentions. Being ancient and wise doesn't stop someone from making mistakes. It didn't stop Lord Tremblor or Lady Neso from being irrational. They don't have to face the consequences of their actions because they're powerful and essential. That's not fair, but what could we do about that… and not get squashed trying?
Defense
I sought Beryl out to ask her to help defend Greenguard. If she rejected me or if Rhubarb felt that I was pushy, I wouldn't force her to do anything. It would've already been extremely helpful to talk with her and learn about the ancient past. Now we'll never get that chance. A court mage, Magus Adreanna Noelle, was interested in how long a person can live comfortably in an underwater environment. I can at least give her some material.
Queen Incognito
I wasn't expecting to see you here but I can't be happier! Though I was sure the Captain and I could handle this treasure hunt on our own, I'm relieved that you'll help us. Truth be told, this jaunt on the beach may take a more…harrowing turn later. The Captain does seem like an honorable man but there are a few things I want to keep to myself. While we finish the second half of the ritual, I'll whisper them to you.
Map
Brentan and I have been poring through the castle's library looking for ways to better defend Greenguard. Our enemies and…current allies are getting stronger. We need to keep up. I found this map in the formerly forbidden section of the library, back when it was under the Slug Tyrant's ownership. It doesn't exactly lead to the treasure. The map is a layout of the structure where the treasure is trapped. It'll be more useful later.
Captain Rhubarb
The penalty for piracy is death, which does seem like overkill, but most pirates aren't like Captain Rhubarb. Swordhaven has decided to withhold any judgements because of his heroic actions and relationship with you. As for myself, I respect a fellow that doesn't need the law to tell him right from wrong. I do know that he's a pirate, but I also know he'll be responsible with the treasure we're searching for.
Ritual
The map refers to a legend from a landlocked town within Greenguard's borders. Long ago, mortals from the mountains offended a powerful Sea Witch. To balance the scales, the Witch took a precious treasure from them. Each year, the townsfolk make straw dolls to drown at this beach in the hopes of soothing her grudge. Eons have passed and the treasure remains trapped in the sea. That's what we're after.

After completing the 'Ebbing Grudge' quest:
Queen Incognito
After everything we've theorized, I was half expecting the Sea Witch to pop out and try to kill us. Or rather, the Water Avatar. So, a ghost guarding the entrance to the prison is honestly a relief! I'll explain what that prison is later. And I'll apologize to you and Captain Rhubarb! But first, we need to exorcize this wraith!

Let's review our facts.

The treasure is actually the Exiled Champion of Earth. I was hoping they would consider lending their aid in protecting Greenguard. My deepest apologies for keeping her identity a secret. Because she's an ancestor of Captain Rhubarb, I was worried it would look like I was planning to use a member of his family like a tool. That's why I offered the Captain full rights to the treasure before I made any requests.
