Shadowscythe?
The Shadowscythe is Lore's single most powerful faction. The Undead Legion, Nulgath's Nation - they all bow to us. You may serve them if you wish, but why bother—when you can work for those who command them?

Gravelyn?
The Empress of the Shadowscythe is still young, but she is no different from her father in his youth. The same brash ferocity has served we'll. And she is still learning.

Who are you?
Who am I? A simple warrior in service to the Empress. I had the honor of fighting alongside Valen long before he became a DoomKnight. And even after his death, I continue to serve his daughter with all my might. My arm is her arm; my blade is her blade.

Shadowscythe Juggernaut
You have returned! Both of you…I see that our armies were in the same mind as their leaders. The Light Elemental's ambush has necessitated a truce between the Empire and the Legion. Gravelyn, your father was forced to battle alone in your absence. That greater Light Elemental, or whatever it may be, has caught him at his most vulnerable. You must make haste to his side!

Emperor
The Emperor is still injured from our brush with the Nation. I believe the Light Elemental that ambushed us had been watching those events closely, allowing itself to be captured by Dage the Evil so it could sneak into the fortress undetected. Neither side was ready for its attack. Gravelyn, you…I loathe to be corrected by the Legion's Lord, but it is true…I should refer to you as Empress Gravelyn.

Traitors
After the greater Light Elemental made its ambush, glowing veins began to spread on the bodies of the traitorous Shadowscythe, and they turned their blades on both the Empire and Legion. Though they fight viciously, a light has shone into the depths of their souls. They're screaming and bellowing for forgiveness to some unknown entity. Perhaps the Light Elemental?

Allies
After facing the greater Light Elemental, I was in no position to fight or lead our forces. I can't force my body to move. One of the generals, Rand, took temporary charge in my place. The Legionnaires fought alongside the Empire, but our numbers were being decimated by the Light Elemental's powers. The only way to attain victory would be to cut off its head.

After completing the 'Lost Light, Astero' quest:

As you promised before, you followed your fathers example and defended the Shadowscythe from the Legion and the Light. The Lord of the Legion even acknowledged your rule over Emperor Sepulchure's. But don't see this as a reason to rest easy on your laurels. You still have much to prove, and there will be those whose jealousy will burn darker because of this accomplishment.

I'm more than happy to see Empress Gravelyn make this Heroes Heart Day the last in history. As for the mishap with General Vaioh? You're not in any danger. It'll be annoying for a while, and then he'll get bored… most likely… maybe. I don't know, tell me how it goes after a week or two.

General Vaioh
Compared to the rest of the Shadowscythe, General Vaioh is soft-spoken despite his wretched attitude. I won't deny his battle prowess, but he is dedicated to nothing and no one. We raised him from the dead to join our Empire, and he served Emperor Sepulchure for a time because it was 'entertaining', but quickly lost interest. Something about the Emperor's fixation on King Alteon and Greenguard irked him.

Peers
I visited the Empress, and noticed that a suspicious number of the Empire's warriors and mages were missing. Zio was supposed to be organizing expeditions outside of Greenguard, but I was told by Tibias that she disappeared one day without a trace. He had to ask Chen, of all people, to fill in. The maps are fine, but Tibias plans to remove his ability to hear after it's done. Zio… she used to serve in General Vaioh's ranks… *sigh*

Heroes Heart Day
What about it? This Heroes Heart Day overlaps with Friday the 13th, but that doesn't mean it isn't miserable every other year. The other members of the Empire, mainly those of the same temperament as Noxus and Sally, see it as a prime opportunity to cause mayhem. They're setting themselves up for failure. I don't know a single individual who wasn't utterly humiliated during the 'festivities'

After completing the 'Does Your Heart Quiver?' quest:

Beleaguered Juggernaut
See? None of us died… we're all just incredibly embarrassed. The hazing in the Shadowscythe's lower ranks should involve Heroes Heart Day. Do it. Cackle and terrorize all the lovey-dovey idiots trying to swap Snugglegrams. It'll invite the cruelest of gods to curse you with the worst humiliation of your life. I wonder how General Vaioh's doing. Maybe the next time I see him, he'll be making vows in golden chains.

The wounds inflicted on that fiend can't be mended easily, but Emperor Sepulchure's mind seems to have been shaken since the encounter. I would protest keeping him in that person's chambers, but it is true. He heals faster inside her old bedroom.

As the Archfiend's former student and now his eternal rival, Dage the Evil would take Nulgath declaring your father his equal as a grave insult. The Lich's competency is being put to question, and he means to save his pride with this siege.

Turncoats

We are besieged by the Legion, traitors, Light Elementals, and now we've discovered that spies could be hiding in the walls. This is infuriating, I…Yes, you're right. Together, we will defeat this Elemental and check on the Emperor's condition.

I misjudged who the real threat was. The higher Light Elemental that Dage the Evil supposedly captured…it hid its true might. I suspect it allowed itself and its brethren to be enslaved so the Legion and the Empire would not treat them with caution. We were both duped, and the elemental successfully infiltrated the fortress. Just who is this Light Elemental? I have never seen a light so blinding and harsh.

Shadowscythe Juggernaut
Empress Gravelyn has ordered me to stand guard at this so-called Termina Temple with my warriors. I believe the Nation has sent warriors of their own to do the same. I am against the idea of prioritizing the Temple over the Empress, but her orders are the Empire's law. She has proven her might, and is worthy of our loyalty. So long as she deems it necessary, I will aid you in keeping spies and invaders out.

Neutrality
I see that the Blue Mage, the Dragon Priestess, and Scholars have declared complete neutrality. Do not expect the same of the Empire's loyalists, but know that Empress Gravelyn holds you in high regard. If anyone who flies the flag of the Empire finds information that could be of use to you, my warriors will escort them from the Fortress to the Temple in secrecy.

Shadows
This new Temple of Light was invaded by a Shadow. All members of the Shadowscythe are aware of this creature's ilk and their attempts to take control of the Empire. They, and those aligned with them, are to be destroyed on sight. Years ago, the Lord of the Legion visited the Fortress, uncovered a book about these shadows, and negotiated for ownership over it. Has he sent you this book yet?

Empress
The Empress has deep ties to the Light, which can not easily be severed. She returned from the Mana Core after Malgor was destroyed, but was significantly injured. To what extent, even she doesn't know. There is a possibility that the followers of the Light may be able to heal her. Empress Gravelyn and her advisors are wary of this option – as are the leaders of the Nation and Legion.
