Oblivion returning to his original self is causing the Fiend's Void to stir in a peculiar way. The carcasses of dead animals are getting possessed, and creating these empty creatures. You'll join them if you don't fight back.
There's nothing inside of these creatures. They may twitch and flap about, but it isn't because of a ghost or magic. I want to call it…a force of nature. The end comes for everyone, but some choose to seek it out themselves. It's just that this Fiend's Void is hungrier.

The current Nation's Outriders are wandering the path ahead. Don't try to speak with them. The call of the Fiend's Void will be easier to handle if you strike them down and bury them in the snow. Careful. Their condition is contagious.
Whatever reason they had to make a pact with Nulgath wasn't enough to keep them from succumbing to Oblivion's influence. The current Archfiend must be very powerful if he was able to keep this aura sealed.

Cover the bony spines with snow, and try not to let your gaze linger. The Tundra itself is turning into a Fiend, but the process will halt altogether if you don't acknowledge it. That frozen traveler, on the other hand…how curious. Take a look, would you?
It seems that an Expeditioner became lost in the Tundra long before Oblivion returned. Did you notice that they were still alive? Something else has taken ownership of them. If you wish to investigate further, I won't stifle your curiosity.

The survivors are huddling around candlelight just beyond the Lost Expeditioner. Their own Magi have succumbed to Oblivion's influence, and are rapidly emptying. Destroy them before they spread their emptiness to you.
They were trying to harness the force that's permeating the air. Nulgath's followers weren't the only ones. Below your feet must be layers upon layers of snow and bones. Many fell before Nulgath succeeded in making Oblivion his servant.

Ah, so you're already familiar with the only remaining survivors of the last hunting party that chased after Oblivion. Carnage and Jadzia are as lucid as you are. Talk to them, and see if they know how far along my former student is.
Nulgath seems to prefer a certain approach when it comes to his followers. Forge as many pacts as possible, and let the weak weed themselves out. What remains are people like Jadzia and Carnage.

The younger members of the Nation have the right idea. This ritual area they prepared is keeping Oblivion's Void at bay. Gut the empty creatures, and place candles where they fall. This will help increase your focus.
I remember when my student grew to be as tall as me, but his ambitions remained stagnant. There was little to worry about, until the Fiend God became impatient. His Archfiend needed to be harvested by their successor.

Cut the last of the Nation Outriders down. They're as dead as the animal bones sleeping in the snow. Purify the remains by following my exact instructions, or else their affliction will seep into your marrow too.
Like sleep. Like death. Their souls withered before their bodies did. That's what it was like to send my student into battle. Warriors fell to their knees before blades could be raised. That's how they were slain - from exposure to the elements.

Something is approaching, and it's attracted to the activities of the Oblivion Magi. Disrupt their spells, and strengthen our defenses. The frozen Expeditioner at the crossroads has some sort of protective aura. Fortify it with the ritual candles.
Complete and utter destruction doesn't require much time or effort. A flight of fancy and a second too long trapped with your own thoughts are more than enough. I can't imagine being frozen with only my loathsome self for company like that lost explorer.

- Obliteration Rune x15

Much like how Nulgath has followers like Carnage and the others, the Oblivion I knew had attendants. They sought oblivion…and found it. His Herald approaches, and you will need to resist its allure.
The cycle continues, spiraling every closer to true oblivion.
