The marauders function as a unit because of a mutual respect and loyalty. Since I betrayed that, talking them down is no longer an option. We need information on why they've come here, and it looks like the only way to get it is through force. The Brimstone Marauders play for keeps, so I won't ask you to be gentle. Go listen in on the Marauders, Looters, and Bandits, and tell me what they have to say.
Horrendous business. But effective all the same. Let's see what you have.

Alright, according to the information you've gathered, we can safely say that the Marauders aren't here by choice. Of course, this begs the question of what excatly made them come to this heavily policed area. Any sort of letters exchanged between the new Chieftain and his subordinates might tell us why, but anything you find will be in code. If there are nay couriers among this bunch, they should at least know the pieces of the cipher we need. Back to the field - the Marauders, Looters and Bandits will have what we need!
My, they've changed their encryptions quite a bit since I left. I would never allow such a simple encoding of vital information. But their mistake is our fortune..

I believe that I've constructed a halfway decent cipher out of what you were able to learn. With this, you should be able to translate any correspondance you snatch off each type of courier. Make sure to actually read them instead dof just letting them rot in your backpack, It's more important that we do this as quickly as possible, so you'll have to translate in the field.
Excellent work! Now figure out what these say!

This appears to be the heart of the camp. I know I have asked much of you, but I'm afraid there is still much more to be done. The resistance here is stiff. Some of these people recognize me from before. There Is nothing for us to do but quell them, however much we can.
I..I'll be right with you. I just need to get my head together.

There is so much pain here, Hero. We must not forget why we are here in the first place, thought. My own past aside, these bandits have been pillaging the roads for long enough to have collected quite a bit of ill gotten goods. We should be returning these goods to the people who it was taken from. perhaps that will take my mind off of this ceaseless battle.
There. This wicked task will bear some fruit, at least.

We may have been bandits, Hero, but we never used to be so fanatically savage. Say what you will about the Brimstone Marauders, I didn't train them to throw their lives away like this. Talmin must have whipped them into a frenzy, likely using my departure as a catalyst to change our ways. Find the manifestations of his cruel doctrine and bring them to me. I have to see what he's been filling their heads with.
Nothing more than sensationalist garbage and lowly fear mongering. They didn't even think to spell my name correctly. "Kryon?" Seriously?

When we were in out old territory, we cultivated a deep connection to the land. We belonged to it, and we treated the Steppe with the respect it warrants. The beasts of the land would often come to our encampments, and we would train them to serve us. Now it seems these beasts have been trained to maim and kill on Talmin's behalf. Dealing with them will greatly limit the clan's ability to counter attack.
I pity those creatures. In any just world, they would have had nothing to do with this conflict.

It is well past time this lunacy ended. I don't want to fight them anymore, Hero, but they won't back down. They stand strong before Talmin, not knowing that he has played them like a song. They will not let us through, and the puppet master will not relinquish his strings. The only thing they understand now is brutality, and so we will give the brutality. Why? Why is there no other way? Why must I kill!?
By the Land, what have we done? We…have to keep going. This can't be for nothing.

All the suffering that has happened under Talmin's watch must be repaid. I once called him my friend, brother, even. But I can never forgive him for what he has done to this once proud clan. It is time.
The Steppe will weep for generations because of the cruelty perpetrated here, and it is not only Talmin's fault. The blood rests on my hads also. We are weak and repulsive things, us bandits.
