Hostage Lord of Chiral Valley
My father was revived as an Undead monster, and he broke free of the Necromancers' control. The plan my plotting relatives had in mind involved overthrowing King Alteon, and taking the Throne by force. Please, stop them. The current Lord Vaughn has no involvement in this, and he'll be punished if the rest of the Noble Court finds out. I'm sorry I had to use blackmail to get your attention, but there was no other choice.
Brother
I had three older brothers, but now I only have one. Lord Henry Vaughn III…Father named two of his sons after himself. Henry II was killed by Sir Valen during the negotiation, and Edward ran away after the rebels prevailed. Henry III was made Lord of Chiral Valley. We're not allowed to send each other letters, but Brentan said he's been taking good care of its people! I know he's working hard, so I can't let this ruin his efforts.
Plot
My relatives paid Necromancers to raise my father from the dead so they could carry out a coup. I found out because they were plotting to kill my big brother, and replace him with me. They thought I'd be willing to hurt Henry and take everything he had. The thought never crossed my mind. I snuck away from my wardens in the Neverglades, and sent that letter to you. It wasn't easy, and I haven't slept in days, but I'll do anything for Henry.
Rebellion
My Father was Thronekeeper Vaughn, which was an epithet he inherited as Captain of the Kingsguard. Despite his prowess as a warrior and bodyguard, he never liked King Dethrix I. Even if he married my aunt, father was suspicious of him. Is that why you were willing to negotiate with the Thronekeeper when you heard he was defecting? Whatever the case, Sir Valen killed him and many of his knights before it could happen.

Princess Victoria! I'll carry her highness and we'll escape up the stairs. Do you know what caused Queen Lynaria's condition? She's…she's bleeding from her nose and eyes. It's going to be okay. We'll look for medicine or potions or… There has to be something left in the castle! There has to be…Argh! This is my fault, I shouldn't have gotten you involved. Maybe if this is caused by magic, my condition could help…

You read my letter? I see you didn't come alone, but that's for the best. The Necromancers raised the souls of the dead who fell during the rebellion. One of them is guarding the entrance to Castle Bocklin, and seems to have been enthralled by his own minions.
Hostage
I slipped away from the Neverglades, and I'll lose my head if anyone finds out. My family, House Vaughn of Chiral Valley, was loyal to the tyrant king during the rebellion. When King Alteon ascended the throne, I was given to the Lords of the Neverglades as a hostage. The new Lord Vaughn won't retaliate or rebel, or else Brentan will kill his little brother. It keeps the peace that way, and my wardens are kind despite the circumstances.
Blackmail
Yes, I was the one who sent you that letter about the truth. The current Lord Vaughn, my brother, wants nothing but peace. Our other relatives don't feel the same, but their schemes are going to get him in trouble. That's why I wanted you to come alone. Blackmail was my last resort, and after what you and Sir Valen talked about…I feel for you, really. I wish there were no such thing as tyrants or kings.
Bocklin
I haven't seen Chiral Valley for so long. Bocklin Grove and its castle used to be a major stronghold during the Rebellion. This was where Duke Vaughn tried to negotiate with Alden Alteon, but Sir Valen crushed his head with a hammer. This was when the people first grew uneasy about the man who would become Sepulchure. The Vaughns lost the title of Duke, and the sacred grove became a forest of the dead.

We need to find Princess Victoria. I don't know how long the effects of the potion will last. If you're the true targets of the real culprits behind this plot, they could close in at any minute. This is my fault. I am truly sorry for leading you directly into their hands.

Let me know how I can help you and Victoria. Whatever it takes to make things right, I'll do it.
Immunity
The members of Hose Vaughn have what our scholars call a hereditary 'immunity' to mana. We can't cast spells, but magic has no effect on us either, and that includes healing magic. Physical attacks will still hurt, of course, but that isn't a difficult base to cover. The condition is more pronounced in some of us than others. Mine is… particularly strong. Nobody is sure how this came to be, though it most likely occurred in the distant past.
Brothers
My father had five sons, two of which he named after himself. Henry II, John, Edward, Henry III, and me. My two eldest brothers died during the rebellion, and Edward likely perished after he ran away. Which leaves only Henry III and myself. John and Ed took after our father the most, but the Henrys would do anything for me. I miss them…but I don't deserve to see them. Henry III will never be free as long as my safety is held over his head.
Potion
The effects of the potion are temporary, but I can make more. How much of my blood does it need? Considering the degree of your affliction…the next one would require me to sleep for a while. That doesn't matter, I can take it…but you'll have none of it. I'm sorry for suggesting such a thing. What I said was overly optimistic as well. What's happening to you is slowly increasing in severity. Henry and I would die trying to keep up after a month.

Henry III never believed that our father would defect. It was our eldest brother's doing all along. He wanted the bloodshed to stop after John fell in battle, and was killed for being 'weak.' Father…there's no love left for him here. He needs to return to the grave.

Your Highness, the Thronekeeper is in the castle's inner sanctum. He's stronger than he ever was in life. That enchanted armor is what's keeping him tethered to this plane. If we destroy it, he'll be banished back to Death's realm. Just remember, magic has little effect on him.

Your Highness, I owe you and Princess Victoria my life. Let me give you the names of my treacherous relatives before I offer my life in recompense. This is what's owed, and what I want. My mere existence has trapped my one remaining brother in a prison. I appreciate your kindness, but returning me home would only enrage the rest of the nobility. Showing this mercy to a ruined house is…H-huh? Is there another way?
